Created to Preserve and Enhance the Quality of Life in the
Village of Tequesta
Mission Statement
Created to preserve and improve the quality of life in The Village of Tequesta by engaging in civic affairs, offering research-based information, and collaborating with local governments and residents to align the resolution of potential problems with outcomes in keeping with this objective.

The village of Tequesta occupies a spectacularly beautiful natural site on the Loxahatchee
between a state park to the north and federally protected land to the south, including the iconic
Jupiter Inlet lighthouse. The river and intra-coastal waters are vital habitat for numerous aquatic
species and the beaches at Tequesta are uniquely rich and beautiful, featuring at the same time
scarce habitat for threatened species like the Loggerhead turtle and scenic Anastasia rock
formations.
The village was founded in 1957, and its residents are proud to live in a small village in such a
beautiful natural space and aspire to protect this quality of the community by nurturing a strong
and diverse local economy, as well as preserving and enhancing the natural environment in the Village
